Please be advised that the New Brunswick System Operator (NBSO) will be holding an Open Season for:
- 300 MW of firm Point-to-Point export capacity out of or through New Brunswick at the NBSO / ISO-NE Interface (“MEPCO”); and
- 300 MW of firm Point-to-Point import capacity into or through New Brunswick at the NBSO / ISO-NE Interface (“MEPCO”).
This additional transmission capacity will be available upon the coming into service of a new 345 kV International Power Line (IPL) – Northeast Reliability Interconnect (NRI), between Point Lepreau, New Brunswick and Orrington, Maine. This line is expected to be in-service on or about December 1, 2007.
The Open Season will be conducted in accordance with section 2.1, Initial Allocation of Available Transmission Capability, of the New Brunswick System Operator Open Access Transmission Tariff (Tariff). It will commence on July 3, 2007 at 08:00 hours ADT, and will continue for a sixty (60) day period ending on August 31, 2007 at 16:30 hours ADT.
During the Open Season period, the NBSO will suspend the approval of all requests for Long-Term Firm and Short-Term Firm Transmission Service where such approval may conflict with the award of the Open Season incremental capacity. These requests will be queued and placed in a “study state” on the NBSO OASIS and following the completion of the Open Season will be processed in accordance with their respective queue positions.
Interested Parties may request and receive all relevant documents, including detailed bid submission instructions and forms, by contacting the NBSO by e-mail, regular post or fax at the following address (please include company name, mailing address and contact information):
