Request For Expressions of Interest

Capacity-Based Ancillary Services Supply

In the interest of efficiency, the New Brunswick System Operator (NBSO) does not intend to launch a Request for Proposals process for the procurement of ancillary services at this time unless there is reasonable indication of competitive bidding.

The process would take place late this summer for supply of services for either of the two upcoming Capability Periods:

  1. Winter 2007/08 (November 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008); and
  2. Summer 2008 (April 1, 2008 to October 31, 2008).

The requirements and process would be similar to those of last year, but with the addition of the opportunity for loads to provide spinning reserve (last year’s Notice can be viewed at http://www.nbso.ca/Public/en/news/general/archive/20060811.aspx).

Any party interested in bidding is asked to indicate the specific services it expects to offer and the respective quantities for each Capability Period. Please note that such expressions of interest will be treated as confidential, non-binding, and are not a pre-requisite to bidding should such a process be undertaken.

Expressions of interest should be submitted by August 9, 2007 to:
