In order to have access to the New Brunswick Electricity Market, you must be authorized to do so by the New Brunswick System Operator.

Accreditation is the process by which persons become Market Participants and constitutes the authorization process referred to in the New Brunswick Electricity Act, subsection 58(2)(d)(ii).

Under the New Brunswick Electricity Market Rules, Market Participant status is required in order to undertake any of the following activities:

• buy or sell in the market
• supply ancillary services to the market
• register a Facility with the NBSO
• take Point-to-Point or Network transmission service
