Notice of Proposed Amendment to the Market Rules

In accordance with the New Brunswick Electricity Market Rules, Chapter 3, Appendix 3B (Market Rule Amendment Process), s. 3B.2 (Initiation), notice is hereby given of a proposed amendment to the Market Rules. The proposed amendment would see the expansion of the Market Advisory Committee to include a representative of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Agency of New Brunswick.

Established in October 2005, the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Agency helps consumers to lower their energy bills and to better deal with energy price impacts through conservation. The agency also provides incentives for businesses to improve energy conservation and increase competitiveness for business and industry in the province. The Market Advisory Committee is of the view that a representative from this agency would be of assistance to the Committee in its deliberations.

Any person wishing to comment on this proposal should submit such comments, by not later than April 9, 2007, to any member of the Market Advisory Committee (please visit the NBSO website at www.nbso.ca for the membership list) or to the NBSO in writing, or by e-mail using the following coordinates.
