NBSO is responsible for seeking revisions to the New Brunswick Open Access Transmission Tariff as required. The Tariff provides the foundation for the market in that it establishes the basic conditions and rates for use of the transmission system. All such revisions must be approved by the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board and are thus subject to public scrutiny and must be found to be in the public interest. Rates must be “just and reasonable” and are designed to provide appropriate returns to the suppliers of the services and to charge users fairly.
